Scope: Structural Engineering
This challenging design included 4 story wood bearing walls
that had to be designed to accommodate the shrinkage of the wood as it
seasoned.
Large steel moment frames were incorporated to allow open
space at the ground floor for conference rooms and a swimming pool. Special
floor designs allowed for mechanical ducting and fire
resistance requirements.
